WASHINGTON, DC AND PHILADELPHIA, PA. The Messenger Courier Association of the Americas (MCAA) and National Transportation and Logistics Association (NTLA) today announced that they have signed an agreement to hold a joint educational meeting in the fall of 2008 and again in 2009. Called the Executive Roundtable, the 2008 meeting will be held October 20-23 at the Loews, Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson. The 2009 meeting will be held October 28-30 at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale.
In the past, the MCAA has hosted the Executive Learning Series in the fall, and the NTLA has hosted the Transportation Roundtable during the same time of year. The 2008-09 Executive Roundtable will be a single event meeting that will bring forward the best elements of both programs. The Executive Roundtable will feature educational seminars on a range of issues affecting both expedited delivery companies as well as shippers. Special emphasis will be placed on the banking and pharmaceutical industry verticals, and much of the content will be focused on managing through the realities of the current economic situation. The NTLA Certification training course will also be offered during the program. This Certification Course prepares carriers to conduct self-audits and apply for certification as a banking or pharmaceutical carrier. The event, which will kick off with a golf tournament, also features a trade show and many business networking opportunities. The MCAA represents the sameday expedited delivery industry while NTLA is an organization of thought leaders focused on the last mile sector of the scheduled transportation industry. The NTLA creates educational programs, tools and industry standards for users and providers of last mile delivery services.
“We are stronger when we act together as an industry and this meeting is an example of this goal set by my predecessors,” stated MCAA President Mike Gualtieri, “we expect to increase the value of both associations and the return on investment to our sponsors and vendors.” J.D. Gamble President of NTLA, said, “The NTLA is excited about working together with the MCAA to deliver ‘best in class’ executive education and learning content for the industry.”
