The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association. Each year an election is held at the Annual Convention for one-half of the seats on the Board. Any current, Regular member of the Association is eligible to run for the Board.

Michael Gualtieri – President
ProCourier - West Hartford, CT
Mike is President of ProCourier, Inc., of Connecticut. The company has offices in West Hartford, New Haven, and Stamford. Mike has worked in various capacities in the courier industry since 1980. He founded ProCourier in 1997 shortly before serving his first term on the MCAA Board of Directors. He has worked on many committees and previously as Chair for CISA, Ethics, Magazine and Convention Committees. Mike and his wife Sharon have 3 children - Michael, III, Tyler, a student at the University of San Diego and Ali, a high school senior.

Chris Mackrell – First Vice President
Custom Courier Solutions – Saratoga Springs, NY
Christopher MacKrell is currently President of Custom Courier Solutions, Inc a full service transportation organization based in Saratoga Springs, New York. Custom Courier Solutions, Inc provides the full range of logistic services to the less than 24 hour delivery market. Prior to Custom Courier Solutions, Inc Mr. MacKrell was with CD&L, a full service transportation company based in Hackensack, New Jersey, where he held the position of Manager of Business Development and oversaw the company’s sales effort in the Northeast. Prior to joining CD&L, Mr. MacKrell was Regional Vice President-East overseeing the field sales and ground operations of AirNet Systems eastern US operations. AirNet operates a fleet of turbo and jet powered aircraft servicing the Banking and Medical industry based in Columbus, Ohio.
Prior to AirNet Systems Mr. MacKrell was employed by Velocity Express, and its predecessor companies, in various National Sales and Senior operations position in the Northeast. Mr. MacKrell has been active in the transportation industry since 1982.
Mr. MacKrell resides in Saratoga Springs, New York with his wife and two sons.

Rob Johnstone – Second Vice President
Priority Express Courier – Boothwyn, PA
Upon graduation from Drexel University in 1989, Rob worked his way up various sales positions at IBM. However, Rob wanted to control his own destiny, so he teamed up with college roommate, Gerry Frey, to start Priority Express Courier in 1994. A focus on providing quality service while aggressively growing the business has landed Priority on Inc. Magazine’s Fastest Growing Company list and the Inc. 500 for the last 3 years. Priority has emerged as a leading regional provider of time critical same day delivery and scheduled route delivery, with offices in the Philadelphia and New Jersey markets.

Rob Hackbarth – Treasurer
Hackbarth Delivery Service – Mobile, AL
In 1975, Rob and his wife Carol, founded Hackbarth Delivery Service. The company has grown from a single vehicle into an 12 branch company with over 300 drivers. HDS currently has operations in six states and daily does business in seven southeastern states. From local small package service, Rob has directed the company into other areas including logistics, pharmaceutical distribution, appliance delivery, bank transportation and warehousing. He graduated from Samford University earning a business degree with a major in management and a minor in economics. He and his wife spent over 18 years in Engaged Encounter, a nationwide organization that helps engaged couples prepare for marriage. Currently, Rob is involved with L’Arche, an international organization that helps handicap persons and the Service Center, a local Mobile organization that helps the poor. He enjoys all kinds of fishing.

Kirk Godby – Secretary
Corporate Couriers – Ft. Worth, Dallas, Austin, TX
Kirk is President & co-owner of Corporate Couriers, which he founded in 1993. Corporate Couriers has offices in Ft. Worth and Austin, TX. Kirk is fully responsible for all operations, IT and sales. His tireless efforts in implementing and leveraging emerging technologies has allowed Corporate Couriers to be recognized as one of the most efficient courier companies in the country. His DFW office receives 72% of their orders online and services 700 dels/day with only 4 employees. Also, his company grew over 300% from 200-2005 without hiring one additional staff member. Kirk received his BBA from Texas Christian University.

Rob Slack – Immediate Past President
National Delivery – Glens Falls, NY
Rob Slack currently serves as President of MCAA and chairs the Magazine, Convention and Industry Statistics Committee. He has been involved in MCAA for the past 15 years and is proud to have been a part in its growth. He started in the courier business as an independent contract courier while attending college and followed that as the retail warehouse and distribution manager for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY. He then founded his first courier company, L.E.D.F.O.O.T Express Inc., in 1981 and grew it to over 500 employees. He sold L.E.D.F.O.O.T to U.S. Delivery Service in 1994 and went on to found USAcourier.COM, NextFlightOut.net and Door-to-Door.net, which he sold to NextJet Inc. in 2000, becoming the company’s Sr. Vice President. He founded NationalDelivery.com, Inc to facilitate a nationally owned "Joint Marketing" venture, owned and used by a variety of courier companies internationally. He also owns a consulting company that specializes in courier operations, acquisitions and independent contractor issues and is a partner at SCI, SubContracting Concepts Inc. Rob is married with 4 children and maintains residences in Glens Falls and Lake George NY.

John Benko
MANKO Delivery Systems – Tampa, FL
John Benko’s career began over 25 years ago with Piedmont Airlines. He left the Airline Industry in 1999 to start MANKO Delivery Systems Inc. MANKO operates five stand alone verticals (Warehousing; Lost Luggage; Ground Freight; Air Freight; and On Demand Deliveries) that are operated out of its Tampa, Florida, Headquarters. In the brief time MANKO has been in existence they have worked hard to become the “Best In Class” service provider to each of our 420 current customers. John is the husband to Sandra Benko for the past 13 years. They have three children: Kyle (10), Gavin (7), and Hailey (4). He attributes most of the success in his life to the strong support, encouragement, and love of his family.

Rick Chase
Express Messenger Systems, Inc. – Phoenix, AZ
Rick has been with Express Messenger Systems since 1994 and manages special projects such as acquisitions, market expansion, product development, litigation, and independent contractor vendor development. Express Messenger System’s Corporate Risk Department, Safety Department, and Human Resource Departments also report directly to him. Rick has 25 years of transportation business management experience, and prior to joining Express Messenger Systems he held senior management positions with both Roadway and Emery Worldwide. Rick is a current member of the MCAA Board of Directors and chairs the IC Committee, and is a member of the GLAC Committee.

Charles Chiusano
Avant Business Services – New York, NY
Charles F. Chiusano is Vice President of Avant Business Services Corp. Avant has offices in New York City, Stamford, CT, and Hartford, CT. He has been in the expedited delivery business since 1973, when he joined Airline Delivery Services (re branded as Avant in 2006). In the years he has been in the industry he has held several positions in The New York State Messenger and Courier Association. He also represents Avant in their membership in the Connecticut Messenger & Courier Association.
Twice past president of the NY Association, and long term board member, he was responsible for the name change, and the successful outreach program to include members from every part of the state. For many years he was a member of the Datatrac Customer Advisory Board.
He have been married for 31 years, and his wife and he have one child, a daughter.
In addition to the industry associations, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of two Schools Special Needs Children, and a member of the Leadership Committee of the Intrepid Sea/Air Space Museum.

Barry Greer
Continental Messenger and Delivery – Burbank, CA
Barry S. Greer, founder and owner of Continental Messenger and Delivery Services (CMDS for short), has largely based his work and his life on three core values: hard work, communication, and giving back. Barry originated these values early in his career and today they serve as the compass that guides CMDS and its employees.
From the start of his career in the courier industry 20 years ago Barry has had to work hard and often fight for each step of his proverbial ladder to success. In October of 1999, Barry founded Continental Messenger & Delivery Services in Burbank, CA. The company was founded on a philosophy of strong communication and a personal commitment to clients’ individual needs. Barry has also made it a point to validate employees as powerful contributors to success from day one. He is an ardent believer in training his employees to do a better job than he can do.
Most recently Barry and his wife Linda have opened a new venture, Continental Executive Limousine Services, making its debut in April.

Charles R. Moyer
Express Courier – Franklin, TN
Chuck has over 30 years of transportation experience. Chuck came to our industry with 9 years of tractor-trailer and airfreight experience. His 21 years experience in the courier industry ranges from operating as an independent contractor to all positions up to and now including Chief Operating Officer for Express Courier International, Inc. (Nashville, Tennessee). Chuck started his career in the courier industry with Priority Dispatch (Cincinnati) in 1984 and joined Express Courier (Nashville) in 1993. His responsibilities include overseeing sales and operations for 16 facilities, 700 independent contractors, 120 employees and annualized sales totaling over 35 million dollars.

Larry Schwartz
Baron Messenger Service – Miami, FL
Larry Schwartz is President and co-founder of Baron Messenger Service established in 1981. Baron acquired Choice Courier Systems of South Florida in 2000 and Sunshine State Messenger Service in 2004. Larry serves as President of the Florida Messenger Association and also serves on the Advisory Board for Courier Magazine. Baron is a longtime member of the MCAA and ECA and Larry attends all industry conferences. Baron specializes in on-demand deliveries and is open 24/7 365 days a year with a focus in medical, last mile NFO deliveries and critical parts logistics.
Larry is thrilled to be in this business … but when he’s not at work, he enjoys fishing and diving with his family at his weekend home in the Florida Keys.

Ken Tunnell
Ace Expediters – Rochester, NY
Ken graduated from the Simon School of Management at the University of Rochester with a MBA in 1986. Over the next six years he held a number of marketing positions at Pepsi, Ciba Geigy and Nestle Corporations. In 1992, he joined his in-laws courier business (Click Messenger) and took over operations for Upstate New York and New England. In 1995, he became a founding member of CD&L when Click became one of the initial companies who brought the entity public. He is married and lives in Rochester New York with three children.

Larry Zogby
RDS Delivery Service – New York, NY
As the President of RDS Delivery Service, Larry Zogby is not only an astute entrepreneur, he is a man with a vision, and the drive and determination to make it a reality. Larry has innumerable accomplishments to his credit, however he is most proud of his work with the disabled. Through his efforts, RDS has integrated 50 disabled employees among the 120 plus staff members. His commitment to this special group has earned him countless awards and public recognition including the prestigious 2000 Crain's Small Business Award for his dedication to the New York City community and his innovative business approach. In his off-hours, Larry is an accomplished magician who has performed close up for the New York Mets, and actors Cher and Chaz Palmetierri. He has brought his magic to hospitals and charitable events. He shares his generous volunteer spirit with infamous magician and RDS customer, David Copperfield, who brings joy and hope to the disabled through his own Project Magic.

Bob DeCaprio
MCAA Executive Director – Washington DC
Bob has wide association and government affairs experience, having previously worked for The National Petrochemical & Refiners Association, The Heritage Foundation, the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, the American Petroleum Institute and the United States International Trade Commission. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in public and international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. He has been Executive Director since 1998.

John Ferraro
MCAA Government Affairs Director - Washington DC
John has a strong background in legislative affairs having most recently worked in the Florida Senate Majority Office as a Legislative Analyst. He also worked for Florida Governor Jeb Bush and United States Senator Bob Graham. He holds a Masters degree in American Politics and Policy and a Bachelors degree in Political Science and International Affairs, both from Florida State University. He has been Government Affairs Director since 2007.
